Lioni Latticini’s Salvatore Salzarulo Dies – InfowayTechnologies

Salvatore Salzarulo, co-founder of Lioni Latticini, Inc. and 2023 Specialty Food Association Hall of Fame inductee, passed away last month at the age of 74.

Born in Italy, Salzarulo, along with his uncle, Giuseppe Salzarulo, brought Italian tradition and culture to the mozzarella brand Lioni Latticini. The brand began operating out of a garage in Brooklyn, New York in the 1970s, eventually expanding to a small store and deli. From there, they began supplying supermarkets with traditional mozzarella.

Salzarulo managed the production side of the business while his uncle handled the company’s sales.

“With dedication and hard work, Salvatore mastered the art and skill of mozzarella making,” said Lioni Latticini in a statement. “Over the past three decades, the Salzarulo family have transformed their small neighborhood family business into a nationally renowned manufacturer and distributor of fresh mozzarella products.”

Now, Lioni Latticini’s products can be found in 43 states across the country.

Salzarulo was known for his impact on others.

“Salvatore left an indelible mark on all who knew him, he was a true visionary, and an honorable leader with integrity, valor, respect, and compassion,” said Lioni Latticini.
